Lifelong residents of the ABLA Homes said they deserve to be heard.

Half of the 73 apartments on the Taylor Street site would be for low-income CHA residents.

The parking ban aims to discourage suburban "day-trippers" from parking in the area. 

Ald. Jason Ervin will meet with neighbors about the proposed new tenant this week. 

Neighbors are invited to weigh in on development guidelines at the Visioning Workshop this weekend.

The plan would ban street parking from 7-9 a.m. weekdays but make an exception for West Loop residents. 

Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) said he didn't support the new rules, but voted for them anyway.

"You should never come around here alone."

Hundreds have been slain in Chicago this year, and residents fear the violence will only get worse.

Ald. Jason Ervin brought his daughter to City Hall, delighting his fellow aldermen (and even Rahm).

Ald. Ervin said he has fielded complaints from neighbors living in Tri-Taylor and University Village. 

Critics said the new Civilian Office of Police Accountability has little actual civilian involvement.

The aldermen will hold several public meetings on ways to create civilian oversight for the Police Dept.

Some said the EDM fest was too loud, but others thought it brought much-needed foot traffic to the area.

One person was arrested for battery to a Chicago Police officer, officials said.
