The meeting will take place at Brennemann School, 4251 N. Clarendon Ave. Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The "sleep-out" Friday night will raise funds for more than 18 nonprofits.

Developers of the $121 million project have been in negotiations with the city for months.

"They're angry. I don't blame them," the alderman told reporters of the protesters.

The former school building is the fifth former school building sold in the last three months.

Violent crime in Lakeview surged in August and September, topping 2014 numbers.

Wilson Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic, but not pedestrian traffic this week.

Seventeen residents voted against the rezoning, while six voted in favor of it, at the meeting Thursday.
