North Branch Works held its final meeting Wednesday night to discuss plans for the industrial corridor.

Ald.-elect Brian Hopkins said he's out to "treat each neighborhood individually."

Traffic flow, loss of street parking were among concerns from residents impacted by 4-story complex.

"It was a tough campaign; it was a hard-fought campaign," Hopkins said.

Hopkins garnered 55 percent of likely voters polled Tuesday, a week before the ward's runoff election. 

Niketopoulos said Hopkins' approach to engaging neighbors in development inspired the endorsement.

"By the way, if you move to Indiana, you can still be in the ward," Green quipped.

Alyx Pattison and Brian Hopkins support landmarking the tower in light of a plan to sell naming rights.

The remaining two former opponents in the race remain undecided on whom they will support.

The candidates are set to debate in Ukrainian Village on March 24, two weeks before the April 7 runoff. 

The redevelopment of the Finkl steel site and the Northwest Tower are among 2nd Ward's largest projects.

The 2nd Ward suffered a hack job in the last ward redistricting — and voters felt it at the polls.

Many voters were disappointed at the empty polls and low turnout.

There are four candidates in the 43rd Ward and six in the 2nd Ward.

Four of the six candidates in the ward have pledged to limit their campaign financing.
