NEAR WEST SIDE — Robbers struck in and around the West Loop three times Saturday, and police are linking the cases to a fourth robbery last week.

In each case, two to four men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and skull caps exited their vehicles and approached the victims on foot, police said. They took property from the victims and, in two cases, also stole the victim's car.

The first robbery took place at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North Oakley Boulevard on the Near West Side.

On Saturday, the robbers struck at 6 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Kinzie Street in the West Loop. Fifteen minutes later, another victim was reported in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue just north of the West Loop. The third incident was in the 1800 block of West Fulton Street at 8:41 a.m.

Police advise residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately. If confronted by an assailant, remain clam and remember any unique physical characteristics.

Anyone with information on the reported robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8382.
