WICKER PARK — To celebrate its first day in business, Adidas Originals in Wicker Park is pulling out all the stops, with in-store DJ sets and a special "Wicker Park" sneaker only available at the massive storefront just south of the neighborhood's main intersection.
Located at 1532 N. Milwaukee Ave., Adidas Originals replaces a Reckless Records store (which relocated) and the neighboring Rodan, which closed in September 2015.
The combined storefronts were empty for more than a year during a renovation that knocked out a wall and created one big space with 25-foot-high ceilings.
According to Footwear News, the 4,966-square-foot store is the brand's largest, where "kicks addicts can pick up the best Adidas Originals has to offer, including the popular NMD, Stan Smith, Iniki, Superstar styles and more."

To celebrate the store’s opening, Adidas Originals is selling a limited-edition iteration of the EQT Support ADV Support, dubbed “Wicker Park,” exclusively in the new store through the Adidas Confirmed app.
The style is limited to 350 pairs and boasts a “Wicker Park Label” on the tongue with a blue stripe on the label, which is a reference to North Milwaukee Avenue and the CTA Blue Line L Train.
