Chicago Shootings Kill 4, Wound 13 Since Friday Morning

CHICAGO — Another violent wave of shootings across the city left four people dead and 13 people wounded since Friday, police said.

A man was shot dead on an Austin sidewalk Friday night.

A West Elsdon man was fatally shot in Little Village Friday night.

A Friday morning shooting in Garfield Park killed a man and wounded another.

Early Friday morning in Washington Heights, a man and a pregnant woman was killed. The baby the woman was carrying was saved.

In nonfatal shootings:

• In Little Village at 4:38 a.m. Saturday, a 42-year-old man was shot while in a vehicle stopped at a red light in the 2600 block of West Cermak Road.

The gunmen walked up and fired shots at the vehicle. Police believe the incident may have been gang-related.

The victim was shot in his elbow and took himself to St. Anthony's Hospital. He has since been released.

• In Garfield Park at 12:43 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot while sitting in a parked car in the 4100 block of West Fifth Avenue. Someone shot at him from a tan-colored minivan.

The victim took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in his right knee.

• In Garfield Park at 10 p.m. Friday, a 36-year-old woman was shot while on the sidewalk in the 3000 block of West Lexington Street. Someone shot at her from a green SUV.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai and is in serious condition after being shot in both legs.

A 26-year-old man later took himself to West Suburban Hospital and told officers he was outside on the block when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. The man was hit in his upper right arm. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• In Little Village at 9 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot while walking on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of South Central Park Avenue. Someone shot at him from a black sedan.

The victim walked into Stroger Hospital after being shot in his abdomen.

• In Austin at 8:49 p.m., a 42-year-old man was while standing on the sidewalk in the 700 block of North Waller Avenue. Police believe the incident may have been gang-related.

He was taken to West Suburban hospital after being shot in his left foot.

• In Garfield Park at 7:06 p.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in his back, arm and knee while in a vehicle in the 2600 block of West Harrison Street.

Someone shot him from a passing dark-colored SUV. Police believe the incident may have been gang-related.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

• In North Lawndale at 5:16 p.m., three men were shot in a drive-by in the 1900 block of South St. Louis Avenue.

Someone shot at them from a black 4-door vehicle while they were standing outside.

A 25-year-old man was shot in his foot while two 27-year-old men were shot in their legs.

All three were taken to Mount Sinai.

• In Englewood at 2:47 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot while walking in the 5900 block of South Princeton Avenue.

He was shot in his right thigh and taken to St. Bernard Hospital by an acquaintance. He was there in good condition.

• In Englewood at 11:44 a.m., a 20-year-old man was shot while standing on a corner in the 400 block of West 64th Street.

Someone from a dark van drove by and shot at him, wounding him in his left chest. Police believe the incident was gang-related.

The victim was taken to Stroger.

No one is in custody in any of the incidents.
