CHICAGO — Two people were in custody after a driver fled from police and crashed on the Near West Side on Tuesday, police said.
At 7:20 p.m., someone carjacked a Jeep in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street, police said.
At 8:09 p.m., officers saw the Jeep, and the driver tried to flee from the officers, police said. The Jeep driver crashed into another car at West Madison Street and South Seeley Avenue.
Police didn't immediately know how many people were injured in the crash or what their conditions were, but they said the injuries were not life-threatening.
Two people were arrested and a weapon was found, police said.
