9 Women Assaulted By Man On Bike, Police Say

LINCOLN SQUARE — Police have issued an update to a recent alert of a man on a bike committing criminal sexual abuse and battery against women.

While three incidents were reported initially, that number has now risen to nine, across three police districts, from Ravenswood to Rogers Park, from Sept. 3 to Sept. 24.

All of the women were either walking alone or with children when the crimes were committed. The man typically approached from behind and grabbed, groped or slapped the women as he rode by them.

The description of the man is vague, with his age ranging between 25 and 40. The most distinctive characteristic is his silver BMX-style or mountain bike.

The updated dates and times of the incidents:

• 5900 block of North Maplewood Avenue, Sept. 3, 3:15 p.m.

• 1400 block of West Pratt Boulevard, Sept. 14, 9:49 a.m.

• 4400 block of North Ravenswood Avenue, Sept. 14, 10:33 a.m.

• 4600 block of North Campbell Avenue, Sept. 14, 10:45 a.m.

• 4800 block of North Magnolia Avenue, Sept. 14, 10:55 a.m.

• 2300 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, Sept. 14, 11 a.m.

• 2700 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Sept. 14, 11:25 a.m.

• 2200 block of West Leland Avenue, Sept. 20, 12:30 a.m.

• 5000 block of North Wolcott Avenue, Sept. 24, 12:30 p.m.
