Juan Bahena Jr., 23, Shot To Death In Little Village Shooting

CHICAGO — A man was killed and an 18-year-old woman wounded in separate shootings in Little Village, police said.

• At 1:21 a.m. Monday, an 18-year-old woman was a passenger in a car in the 3000 block of West Cermak Road when someone in a black car pulled alongside her and fired shots, police said.

The woman was hit in her legs and she was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 4:32 p.m. Sunday, a man was in a car in the 2400 block of South Western Avenue when someone in a tan-colored minivan pulled up alongside him and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his neck, thigh and buttocks and was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The man was identified as Juan Bahena Jr., 23, of the 3800 block of West 56th Place, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Bahena was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The shooting was possibly gang-related, a police source said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
