WICKER PARK — Happy Friday!

The weekend weather will be warmer and sunnier than usual, with the possibility of storms on Sunday.

Here are a few ideas for things to do in Wicker Park, Bucktown, West Town and Garfield Park.

Take Your Family To The Circus.  The traveling Midnight Circus plans five shows under the "Big Top" in the park, at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $20; children under 2 free, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Celebrate The Impending Fall. The Garfield Park Conservatory’s "Harvest Day" offers composting and beekeeping demonstrations, the chance to sample locally-made honey, make mud pies in a "Play & Grow garden," live music, dancing, bingo and more revelry. Admission is a $5 suggested donation; free for members. From 12-4 p.m. Saturday, 300 N. Central Avenue.

Wind Down The Work Week With Music. Hosted by Sam Trump and Carla D. Brown, the ChiBrations singing showcase features local soul, funk, hop hop and jazz vocalists, plus free beer tastings from Odell Brewing Co. Free, starts at 8 p.m. Friday, Emporium Arcade Bar, 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Destroy Sensitive Papers, Old Electronics. Gather credit card statements and that 11-pound laptop and head to a Free Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling event hosted by Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd). Paper recycling limited to three bags or boxes per person. From 9 a.m. - Noon Sat., 1400 N. Ashland Ave., in the parking lot behind Hopkins' office (enter on Blackhawk Street).

Clean Up Churchill Dog Park. Frequent visitors to Churchill Dog Park — next to The 606's elevated Bloomingdale Trail — will clean up the fenced-in park. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided to volunteers and sources say a power washer has been secured. The park will be closed to dogs during the effort. From 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, 1825 N. Damen Ave.

Grab Some Saturday Night Laughs. Female comedians will be convening again in Bucktown for Ladybits, a variety show offering improv, sketch, storytelling, stand-up, singing, burlesque, and more. The free BYOB show runs from 7-10 p.m. 1728 N. Wilmot Ave.

Cheer on Runners (Avoid Getting Towed). RAM racing's annual Bucktown 5K winds though several streets on Sunday, with road closures and no parking zones in effect for many residential side streets. The race (view the course) kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, 1621 West Wabansia Ave.

Learn How To "Distress" Your Jeans. Bring your favorite pair of jeans — that you are ready to stylishly tear up! — to a drop-in jeans distressing workshop with local clothing designer Anastasia Chatzka. Walk-ins welcome, but advanced email RSVPs get entered into a raffle to win a pair of jeans distressed by Chatzka. Free, from 11-5 p.m. Sunday, 1001 N. Damen Ave.

Chicago Dog Calendar Party (for Humans Only). The Real Dog Moms of Chicago will celebrate the launch of a 2018 calendar, featuring portraits of Windy City pups — but humans only at the free shindig (RSVP HERE). From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday, Doggy Paddle Chicago, 1430 W. Willow St.

Score Fresh Produce. Peruse fresh veggies, cheeses, meats and specialty items, like bagels and crepes at the Wicker Park Farmers Market. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Shop At Pitaya's Closing Sale. After nine years in Wicker Park, Pitaya will close for good on Saturday night. All sale items are 70 percent off. Hours are 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday, 1463 N. Milwaukee Ave.
