NOBLE SQUARE — Chef Edward Kim will close Ruxbin on Sept. 10, it was announced late Tuesday to fans of the acclaimed West Town restaurant.

"It’s been a great seven years, and as abrupt as it may seem, I feel that it’s time for us to go on sabbatical," Kim wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The closure was prompted by a decision to "stop, rejuvenate, and learn again," Kim said.

As for a return, Kim gave no timeline except for "it may be a year from now, maybe more, maybe less, but we’re excited for what that something is. Our lips are tight for now, and we hope that you’ll be equally excited when that time comes."

Located at 851 N. Ashland Ave.. Ruxbin opened in June of 2010.

Kim is also a partner at Wicker Park's Mott St. Chicago, which opened in the summer of 2013.
