By Kelly Bauer | August 21, 2017 9:24am

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man riding in the bed of a pickup truck was killed in a crash Sunday night in Little Village, police said.

At 6:55 p.m., four people were in a blue pickup truck — two of them, including the 26-year-old, riding in the truck's bed — when the driver hit a Chevy Trailblazer, lost control and crashed into a fence in the 2700 block of South Komensky Avenue, police said.

The two people in the bed were thrown out during the crash and the 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the pickup and a passenger drove off, police said.

An investigation was ongoing.
