CHICAGO — Shootings have killed two people and wounded nine since Wednesday morning, police said.

• At 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy was shot to death while playing basketball in South Deering.

• At 8:32 a.m., a 19-year-old man was found shot to death in a Little Village alley.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 4:59 a.m. Thursday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Chicago Lawn, police said. The man was standing on the corner in the 6300 block of South Artesian Avenue when someone walked up to him, fired shots and ran away.

The man was hit in his foot and he was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5500 block of West North Avenue when someone walked up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit three times in his back and he was taken to Loyola Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• Also at 9:45 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. Officers were called to the 1000 block of North Parkside Avenue for a report of a person shot and found the wounded man already being treated by emergency responders.

The man was hit in his stomach and he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 8:34 p.m., a 17-year-old was wounded by a shooting in Brighton Park, police said. The teen got out of a car in the 3800 block of South Spaulding Avenue when someone walked up to the group she was with and fired shots.

A bullet grazed the teen's ear, police said. She declined to be taken to an area hospital for treatment.

• At 8:15 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot while walking outside in Bucktown.

• At 4:54 p.m., a 21-year-old man and 16-year-old boy were shot in Homan Square, police said. The two were in the 700 block of South St. Louis Avenue when they heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his thigh and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The boy was hit in his right leg and he took himself to the same hospital. They were in good condition, police said.

• At 2 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was walking in the street in the 3100 block of West Madison Street when two people fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his foot and he took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, police said.

• At 11:10 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, police said. The man was standing outside in the 7200 block of South Paulina Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit in his lower left leg and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The attacker, who wore all black clothing and a black and red hat, ran away after the shooting, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
