CHICAGO — Chance the Rapper surprised the city with a free concert after the Bud Billiken Parade — with help from his friends former President Barack Obama and rapper Future. 

Chance was grand marshal at the Bud Billiken Parade on Saturday when he announced the Saturday night show. The Chatham native hid tickets across the city and kicked off the concert at the Auditorium Theatre Downtown. 

Obama thanked concertgoers for attending the Bud Billiken Parade in a videotaped segment, and Future and South Side native Jeremih performed.

Known for his charitable work in the city, Chance also gave away 30,000 backpacks to Bud Billiken paradegoers this weekend.
