CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was killed and a woman was wounded in a Monday night shooting in Park Manor, police said.

At 10:20 p.m., the two were standing on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue when a silver Nissan Altima pulled up and three people with guns got out and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his head and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He later was pronounced dead.

The man was identified as Darius Galvin, of Riverdale, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

The woman, who was 20 to 30 years old, was hit in her legs and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Her condition was not available, but she was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.

The shooting is at least the third fatal one in the neighborhood in about a week. A 70-year-old man was gunned down in the 7100 block of South State Street on July 18, and a shooting Sunday in the 7000 block of South Vernon Avenue left a 23-year-old man dead and a 15-year-old boy wounded.
