CHICAGO — Buona Beef is offering a deal for Tuesday: $1 dogs with (almost) any toppings.
The only catch is ... you can't put ketchup on the hot dogs.
In fact, if you want a ketchup hot dog you'll have to dole out an extra 50 cents, according to a news release from Buona, 10633 S. Western Ave. The promotion pokes fun at Chicago's longstanding tradition of frowning upon ketchup hot dogs.
The dogs come with a side and a drink, but the offer is only good for Tuesday, the day before National Hot Dog Day.
Portillo's and America's Dog and Burger are offering $1 hot dogs on Wednesday.
