ROSCOE VILLAGE — The most famous Cheezeborger in Chicago is making its Burger Fest debut as the Billy Goat Tavern joins the list of nearly a dozen restaurants vying for the Critics' Choice and People's Choice crowns at this weekend's event.

The annual Burger Fest returns to Roscoe Village from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Belmont and Damen avenues.

VPT is back to defend its 2016 Critics' Choice title against newcomers including not only the Billy Goat but Kuma's Corner and Reclaimed Bar & Restaurant.

Judging will take place 4-6 p.m. Saturday. DNAinfo's Josh McGhee is a member of the critics panel alongside chef Judson Todd Allen and food blogger Grace Haka.

The People's Choice competition is wide open, with 2016 winner Square Bar & Grill no longer in business. Can Ribfest fan favorite Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro pull off another successful get-out-the-vote campaign? Stay tuned.

Though burgers are the fest's main attraction, the event also includes two stages of live music — Kongos headlines Saturday's lineup and Cracker closes out Sunday — along with a popular Kids Zone area open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. both days.

Admission is a suggested donation of $10 to benefit the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce.

"No parking" tow zones will be in effect from midnight Friday to 5 a.m. Monday on Belmont from Damen to Western, and on Hoyne, Leavitt and Oakley from Belmont to the nearest north and south alleys.
