UPTOWN — After 13 years in Uptown, Crew Bar and Grill is calling it quits in the neighborhood.

The beloved gay sports bar at 4804 N. Broadway will close on July 15, according to the announcement made via Facebook Wednesday:

"After 13 years at Broadway & Lawrence, Crew Bar + Grill will be closing in Uptown on July 15, 2017 and searching for a new home," the statement reads. "Crew's landlord has agreed to buy out the remaining lease term. Crew is seeking to relocate in Uptown, Andersonville, Edgewater or Rogers Park but has not yet found the right space to continue Crew’s legacy. We want to thank Uptown for many memorable years and most of all we want to thank all our dedicated team members and amazing customers who have made Crew Chicago’s best LGBTQ sports bar. Over the coming days we hope to see all of you to bid farewell to Crew’s home of the last 13 years."

Crew's owners could not immediately be reached for comment.

The bar celebrated its 10-year anniversary with speakeasy-themed party in August 2014. At the time, co-owner Mark Robertson acknowledged: "Ten years, for anybody who knows the restaurant and bar business, is a long time."

While one of his partners, Steve Milford, joked that its survival was "a miracle," Robertson said, "Ten years is really a testament to a never-ending commitment to customer service and creating a great experience for someone who is watching sports."
