HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Art Center is ready to show what happens when you put a bunch of artists in a room together with curator Jim Dempsey for nine weeks.

The art center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave., will host a reception for the “Continuous Span” exhibit from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, with artist talks starting at 7 p.m.

The exhibit is a showcase of the what Dempsey believes to be the best work to come out of nine weeks of intensive workshops, seminars and critiques he lead with artists in the Bridge Program at the art center.

The exhibit will run through July 30 with work from artists Jory Drew, Juan Guzman, Zachary Jesse, Janis Kanter, Micaela Krol, Grant Newman, Jane Norling, Pooja Pittie and Toya Simmons.
