UPTOWN — Longacre is finally ready to start serving up pizza pies.

From 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Longacre, 1309 W. Wilson Ave., will host a soft opening serving pizzas at "cut-rate prices," according to owner Andy Kalish.

"We'll have ample vegan and gluten-free options," he said, adding "all beef, chicken and lamb will be halal" prepared according to Muslim law. Pork toppings will also be served.

The restaurant is the second from the husband-and-wife duo on Wilson Avenue. They also own short order vegan spot Kal'ish next door.

Longacre will have seating for about 12 people, plus counter space, but customers who order veggie meals can bring their food into Kal'ish, he said.

The pizza will combine Roman-style and Detroit-style pizzas. It will also offer pasta bakes, soups and salads, he said.

The pizza place will open officially June 14. It will be open from 4-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. It will be closed on Tuesdays and open from 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
