Driver Sideswiped Squad Car, Drove Jeep Into Little Village Home: Police

CHICAGO — A man sideswiped a Chicago Police car before hitting the side of a home in Little Village early Monday, police said.

At 2:18 a.m., officers were driving in a squad car in the 2700 block of South Homan Avenue when a man in a Jeep turned into them, sideswiping the squad car, police said. The man drove to the 3000 block of West 27th Street, where he hit a home.

No one was reported injured, police said, and the home had "minor damage."

The driver of the Jeep, 27, was taken into custody and charges were pending.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said, and a weapon was found inside his car.
