TBT: What Starbucks Corner At Logan And California Looked Like In 1936

By Mina Bloom | June 1, 2017 6:05am

LOGAN SQUARE — For #ThrowbackThursday, check out what the corner of Logan Boulevard and California Avenue looked like in 1936.

The old photo, taken in the 2800 block of West Logan Boulevard, shows two young boys in front of Logan Drugs. Today, the corner is home to Starbucks and Buona Terra Ristorante.

Here's what Logan Square Preservation has to say about the photo:

Two boys pose for a picture on the south side of the 2800 block of west Logan Blvd, 1936. The building in the background at right, pictured here as the home of Logan Drugs, is today home to Starbucks and Buona Terra.

The man in the back left of the image is using a water fountain — there used to be several along the boulevards including several at this intersection of Logan/California.

DNAinfo is partnering with Logan Square Preservation on a "Throwback Thursday" post each week. All photos are the property of Logan Square Preservation unless otherwise indicated.
