FULTON MARKET — As a developer prepares to build the new Hoxton Hotel on Lake Street, plans for the hotel's restaurant and swanky rooftop pool have surfaced.
Fulton Market developer Shapack Partners and London-based Ennismore are partnering to build the 12-story Hoxton Hotel at 832-850 W. Lake St. Demolition at the site, formerly home to Grant Park Packing and Vaia Inc. Auto Specialists, began this month.
The project at Lake and Green is expected to bring 175 new hotel rooms and two floors of office space to Fulton Market, developer Jeffrey Shapack previously confirmed.
Plans from design firm AvroKO show a 275-seat bar restaurant, bar and lounge on the building's first floor opposite the hotel's lobby entrance off of Green Street.

On the hotel's rooftop, a 2,300-square-foot bar, pool and terrace with fireplaces and day beds are also planned, according to the October 2016 site plans.

Shapack declined to comment on the project Monday.
Following a zoning change in 2016, the Hoxton Hotel project is slated to open in 2018. The building is designed by GREC Architects.
The West Loop is home to the Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Downtown, Soho House Chicago, a Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites, and more hotels are coming to the red-hot neighborhood. The 11-room Publishing House Bed and Breakfast on Washington is slated to open next month and the 159-room Ace Hotel will open this fall. A Nobu Hotel on Randolph and a hotel by Equinox fitness clubs also on Randolph are also planned.
Shapack Partners has developed a number of buildings in Fulton Market, including the 29-story residential high-rise The Parker on Lake, Soho House Chicago, WeWork Fulton Market, Formento's and Momotaro.
