THE LOOP — You can now order drinks inside or outside at Cindy's, the trendy rooftop bar overlooking Millennium Park.

The bar topping the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel at 12 S. Michigan Ave. has been testing out its new terrace bar for about a week in advance of a more formal opening Wednesday, according to bar staff and Brian Chan, a spokesman for the hotel.

The terrace bar has been opening at 2 p.m. on weekdays, allowing Cindy's guests to step out onto the roof without going back inside and losing their view. Guests at Cindy's, which regularly draws big crowds, previously had to order drinks from a server or at the bar inside. Weekend hours have yet to be finalized, according to bar staff.

Cindy's terrace bar currently offers beer, wine as well as a few of the lounge's signature cocktails. The terrace bar will soon add a rotating rosé menu, boozy popsicles from pastry chef Jove Hubbard and "large format" cocktails for sharing by Cindy's "spirit guide," Nandini Khaund. The terrace bar, which replaced a fire pit on the rooftop's north end, will add a canopy for shade soon.
