THE LOOP — Soon you can step out onto Cindy's rooftop without having to go back inside.

The buzzy rooftop bar crowning the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is adding a new bar to its terrace overlooking Millennium Park.

The terrace bar will feature rotating rosés, boozy popsicles from pastry chef Jove Hubbard and rotating "large format" cocktails for sharing by Cindy's "spirit guide," Nandini Khaund. The terrace bar, which is replacing the terrace's north fire pit, will otherwise be a full bar with robust beer and wine options.

The terrace bar is expected to open in May. Guests at Cindy's, which regularly draws long lines on weekends and other times, currently have to order drinks from a server or at the bar inside.

Cindy's is adding the terrace bar "so guests can have their drinks have a little bit faster," said Brian Chan, a spokesman for the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel at 12 S. Michigan Ave.

The terrace bar will also serve Cindy's signature cocktails. Chan said Cindy's will add new cocktails for the spring soon.

Eater first reported news of the terrace bar Friday morning.
