EAST VILLAGE — Sabroso! Mexican Grill, a family-owned California restaurant that was featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," will be opening a second location along Damen Avenue in West Town's East Village.

A banner announcing the Garden Grove-Calif. based eatery and its website was hung recently on the fence in front of the building at 941 N. Damen Ave.

The empty restaurant and fenced-in patio recently housed The Cotton Duck, which closed in February.

Sabroso! Mexican Grill opened in 2012 and is owned by Norato Munoz, who focuses on family recipes, such as quail in rich red sauce and slow-cooked beef in chili, according to an Orange County Register report.

Sabroso is a Spanish adjective that means tasty or yummy.

Munoz was not available for comment on Thursday, but a worker at his California restaurant said that the plan is to open sometime this summer.

Sabroso! Mexican Grill's large menu also features tacos, enchiladas, burritos and tortas and other items.
