Little Village Shooting Wounds Girl, 16, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 16-year-old girl was shot and wounded Monday night in Little Village, police said.

At 9:40 p.m., the girl was standing on the sidewalk with two people in the 3300 block of West 24th Street when a boy or man came out of a nearby alley and fired shots at the group, police said.

The girl was hit in her leg and left foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.

The two people the girl was with had "gang ties," a police source said.

No one was in custody.
