CHICAGO — Shootings have wounded eight people since Tuesday, police said.

Among the wounded were two police officers who were shot in Back of the Yards.

• At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 54-year-old man was shot near the border of Garfield Ridge and Archer Heights, police said. The man was in a home in the 4600 block of West 45th Street when he heard a knock on the door. He looked out the peephole and someone fired a shot through the door.

The man was hit in his chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 10:26 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was standing outside in the 3500 block of West Polk Street when someone fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, police said.

• At 9:10 p.m., two police officers who were shot in Back of the Yards.

• Also at 9:10 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said. The man was in the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive when he was shot in his groin.

The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said, and he was uncooperative with officers at the scene.

• At 9:04 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in Grand Crossing, police said. The man was in the 6700 block of South Stony Island Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his foot and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 8:12 p.m., a 60-year-old man was shot in West Englewood, police said. The man was in his home in the 6300 block of South Seeley Avenue when two robbers force their way in.

The man was shot in his stomach during the robbery, and the thieves ran away without taking anything, police said. The man was was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

• At 6:36 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in Pilsen.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
