LOGAN SQUARE — The 20-tap kombucha bar taking over the former Limitless Coffee pop-up in Logan Square has set an opening date.

The Kombucha Room, 2355 N. Milwaukee Ave., will open at 9 a.m. April 29, according to a Facebook announcement that reads, "Get your booch on." The store's opening event will kick off at 3 p.m.

The bar, owned by Taiwan native Mel Mohamednur, will offer about 20 varieties of kombucha, a fermeted probiotic tea drink, from brewers in Chicago and across the Midwest, according to Eater, which was first to report on the opening.

Patrons will be able to try kombucha varieties by ordering shots, flights or pint glasses at the bar or and filling up howlers to take home.

Mohamednur is also considering selling snacks from Bee's Knees and vegan cookies, according to Eater.

Back in January, Limitless Coffee took over the former Owen + Alchemy within a week of the high-end juice bar closing. The coffee shop, which was a temporary pop-up, was in business about 2½ months.

Mohamednur told the blog she wants the Kombucha Room to become the go-spot for the drink.
