UPTOWN — Earlier this month, Cafe Ciat opened its second restaurant on the North Side in Uptown.

The banh mi and pho restaurant opened at 1046 W. Argyle St. two weeks ago, said manager Teddy Tu, adding the mixed culture along the streetscape was perfect for its combination of Vietnamese street food.

Along with traditional pho and sandwiches, the cafe offers spring rolls, salads, rice bowls, Vietnamese coffee and in-house specials. Starting this weekend, it will offer also offer "Asian-cajun style seafood" in the evenings, Tu said.

Next month, it will begin offering dim sum, he said.

While the cafe is currently open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday, it will eventually be open earlier, he said.

The family also owns a restaurant in 2004 W. Roscoe St., which opened in 2016, Tu said.

Until the end of the month, it will offer a banh mi sandwich and Vietnamese coffee combo for $8, he said.
