LINCOLN SQUARE — Signs proclaim "Everything must go!" and "Entire store on sale!" but exactly when the Lawrence Avenue Radio Shack will close for good remains a mystery.
According to staff at the store, the company is being tight-lipped about the final date in order to avoid a sudden surge in customers that could overwhelm employees.
All merchandise was "up to" 60 percent off as of Thursday.
Earlier in March, RadioShack filed bankruptcy for the second time in two years. In 2015, the chain shuttered more than 2,000 stores.
Conflicting lists have surfaced of the Radio Shack stores slated to close in 2017. Some suggest the number is a few hundred, other reports place the figure much higher. Confirmed immediate closings are posted on the company's website.
For now, the Lincoln Square Radio Shack, 1965 W. Lawrence Ave., is still open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. But all sales are final.
