Robbers Strike Northwest Side Street Twice In 15 Minutes, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men robbed people in Avondale twice in 15 minutes last week, police said.

During the robberies, the men implied they had a gun and ran away once their victims gave up their belongings, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The robberies occurred:

• 10:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 3900 block of West Cornelia Avenue

• 11:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of West Cornelia Avenue

The thieves were described as two Latino men, police said. One was 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-5 to 6 feet tall with short black hair and wore a red jacket or red hooded sweatshirt. The other was 22 to 25 years old, 5-foot-2 to 6 feet tall, with short black hair, and he wore a black jacket.
