ANDERSONVILLE — Takos Koreanos is closing its Foster Avenue storefront Sunday but if all goes according to plan, the Mexican-Korean fusion joint will reappear in a new location in the not-too-distant future.

Owner Phillip Yoon announced in the beginning of February that due to a dispute with the restaurant's landlord, Takos Koreanos would cease operations by the end of the month. A brief reprieve bought Yoon a couple of weeks' time but the doors at 1706 W. Foster Ave. will close for good Sunday.

Yoon said he plans to reopen Takos elsewhere — eventually.

"We can't do it immediately because I just opened up Maki Masters in Lakeview five months ago, and that restaurant needs my supervision for another seven months," Yoon told DNAinfo via email.

"But as soon as that gets established, Takos will be back on," he said.

Takos 2.0 will have a full bar and a high-traffic location, Yoon promised.

Fans of the restaurant, which opened in summer 2014, have been pitching ideas to Facebook where Yoon could reopen Takos, including the corner of Foster and Oakley, where the What Came First? Cafe is a restaurant in search of a restaurateur.

Yoon thanked his loyal patrons for their outpouring of love and support.

"This is goodbye for now," he wrote on Facebook, "and hopefully not forever."
