Chicago Shootings Wound 7 Since Friday

CHICAGO — Seven people were shot in Chicago since Friday morning, police said.

The incidents occurred in the Austin, Roseland and Heart of Chicago neighborhoods.

• In Austin, a 32-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were shot while standing on a sidewalk in the 1600 block of North LeClaire Avenue at 5:34 a.m. Saturday, police said. 

A gray-colored car pulled alongside them and someone shot inside shot in their direction.

The woman was wounded in her right thigh while the man was shot in his abdomen. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. 

• In Heart of Chicago, two men were shot about 2:45 a.m. while walking outside in the 2200 block of West 18th Place.

A 22-year-old man who was shot in his chest and buttocks is in serious condition at Stroger, police said. A 32-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in his abdomen and grazed in his thigh and finger. 

The shooter was in a small four-door silver car, according to police. 

• In Roseland, a 39-year-old man was shot in his leg while walking on the sidewalk at 9:53 p.m. Friday while in the 300 block of West 95th Street. He took himself to Roseland Hospital.

• In Austin, two people were shot when they were approached by a shooter on the sidewalk in the 0-100 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue at 8:22 a.m., police said. 

A 17-year-old boy after he was shot twice in his chest and once in his right leg. A 22-year-old man was shot in his left leg and left hand. He was taken to Stroger too.

The shooter was wearing a black hoodie with a white stripe down the side.

No one is in custody for any of the incidents.
