BEVERLY — The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Beverly has closed.
Newspapers covered the windows of the former used clothing, furniture and housewares store Tuesday at 9321 S. Western Ave. A look inside the building revealed that all of the inventory had been cleared out.
A sign on the window said that the charity will continue to accept donations daily from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the store. It also referred customers to its website.
Attempts to reach officials at the charity were unsuccessful. One of the workers loading donations into a truck said he was told to refer customers to the group's thrift store in Orland Park.
A call to the suburban store at 7010 W. 159th St. was answered by a clerk who again referred customers back to the charity's website.
