AVONDALE — Calling all thrifty brides and grooms-to-be: Chief O'Neill's Pub & Restaurant is offering one lucky couple a free wedding in March.

All you have to do is submit a personal essay (500 words or less) or video explaining why an "Irish wedding would be a dream come true," according to the bar/restaurant at 3471 N. Elston Ave.

There's one catch: It'll be a small wedding. Chief O'Neill's pledges to take care of all the costs, including the officiant, music, flowers, food and photography, for just 10 of the bride and groom's family and closest friends. More guests can be added for a per person fee.

The wedding would be held at the Avondale bar/restaurant on March 7, beginning at 6 p.m.

Online submissions are due by Feb. 26. The winner will be announced by Feb. 28.

For questions about pricing, email the restaurant at celticheatherevents@gmail.com.

Chief O'Neill's has called Avondale home since 1999. The Irish restaurant/bar is named after Chicago's police superintendent at the turn of the 20th Century.
