Amtrak Officer Shoots, Wounds Man Near Union Station, Chicago Police Say

CHICAGO — An Amtrak officer shot and wounded a 25-year-old man near Union Station on Wednesday night, Chicago Police said.

At 8:42 p.m., the Amtrak officer was in the 300 block of South Canal Street when he shot the man in his left shoulder, police said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. Money and drugs from the man were found at the scene, police said.

Chicago Police are investigating the incident.

No further information was immediately available.
