Drone Shows Megamall Demolition In Logan Square From Above

By Mina Bloom | January 25, 2017 5:28am | Updated on January 25, 2017 11:45am

LOGAN SQUARE — Just how big is the Megamall's footprint?

Get a better idea by watching Jordan Miller's drone video. It provides a unique overhead view of the mall, part of which has been torn down to make way for a massive mixed-use development. Another heavily-graffitied part of the building, which can still be seen in the video, will also face the wrecking ball.

Miller, founder of Way Up Creative, is friends with many of the street artists who took over the entire building as a farewell to the structure in May. The primary goal of the video, he said, is to say goodbye to the colorful street art.

"Just seeing the building and parking lot start gloomy grey and abandoned then transform into this multicolored mega monster of art was amazing while it lasted," Miller told DNAinfo in an email.

"I know that artists put a lot of work into something they knew was going to be destroyed. I just wanted to be able to give something back to the artists and the community to see."
