NORTH CENTER — The Bears have been out of contention for the Lombardi Trophy since September, but that doesn't mean there are zero competitive stakes attached to Super Bowl Sunday for Chicagoans.
Tavern on Little Fort, 4128 N. Lincoln Ave., is hosting a chili cook-off during its Super Bowl party, kicking off at 4 p.m. Feb. 5 with no coverage charge.
The cook-off is free to enter, with a maximum of 20 competitors. Think your chili has what it takes to go all the way? Interested contestants should email info@littleforttavern.com for more information.
Patrons will have an opportunity to sample the contenders, and the winner will be decided by popular vote between the game's third and fourth quarters. The champ will receive a tailgate package including a grill, cooler and more.
Cook-off contestants will also receive five tickets for the bar's halftime raffle (other patrons will receive one) — grand prize is a 40-inch plasma TV.
