Armed Robber Carried Pizza Box Into North Side Stores, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are searching for an armed robber who carried a pizza box into North Side businesses before robbing the places.

According to a business alert from the Chicago Police Department, the attacks happened about 4:45 p.m. Dec. 27 in the 2300 block of West Foster Avenue and at roughly 9 p.m. Jan. 13 in the 3900 block of North Elston Avenue.

In each instance, police said, the suspect walked into a business carrying a pizza box. He then pulled a gun, announced a robbery and stole cash from the register and store patrons.

Police are looking for a black man who is roughly 5-foot-8 and weighs 160 to 170 pounds. He is believed to be 30 to 40 years old.
