EISENHOWER EXPY. — Officers responded to a call of a person with a knife on a Blue Line train on Tuesday morning, causing a disruption in service.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday near the UIC-Halsted stop of the Blue Line. Officers responded to a report of a person with a knife, said Officer Jose Estrada.

An officer on the scene said the man "pulled a knife on the train conductor." It was not immediately clear what led to the incident or the status of the conductor.

Police surrounded a man on the platform, who had zip ties around his wrists, which were behind his back. However, Estrada said the man was not taken into custody.

The train, which was headed toward O'Hare Airport, did eventually continue on from the station and Blue Line service resumed.

CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman said there was a disturbance on a northbound train but did not have reports of a conductor being threatened.
