At Brew U In Pilsen, Brewers From Moody Tongue, Hopewell Are The Teachers

PILSEN — Ready to brush up on your beer knowledge? 

Brew U, a four-week beer education series at Dusek's Board and Beer, 1227 W. 18th St. in Pilsen, brings together brewmasters to share their craft next month. The classes will cover topics like Hop-ology and Barrel Aging, a Dusek's representative said. 

The classes, which include beer tastings, kick off Jan. 18, and $80 tickets to the series are now on sale online. Participating breweries include Pilsen's Own Moody Tongue Brewing Co., new breweries Forbidden Root in West Town, Hopewell Brewing Co. in Logan Square and New Belgium Brewing Co. headquartered in Fort Collins, Colo. 

The schedule:

• Jan. 18: Forbidden Root

• Jan. 25: Hopewell Brewing Co.

• Feb. 1: New Belgium

• Feb. 8: Moody Tongue

Dusek's opened in historic Thalia Hall on 18th Street in September 2013.
