Pilsen Shootings Wound Two Men, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Pilsen wounded two people Wednesday, police said.

At 1:43 a.m. Wednesday, a 38-year-old man was standing in the 2200 block of West 21st Street when he was shot in his chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.

At 7:12 p.m. Wednesday, a 23-year-old man was a passenger in a car in the 1900 block of South Hoyne Avenue when a black truck drove up and someone inside began firing. The man was struck in his hand was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

The South Hoyne shooting occurred about a block west of Harrison Park. 

No arrests have been made in either case.

Earlier this month, on Dec. 18, a 17-year-old was seriously wounded in an afternoon shooting in the 1500 block of West 17th Street.
