WEST LOOP — Kids on the nice list hoping to get one last gift request in with Santa Claus can ask him in person in the West Loop this weekend.

On Saturday, Santa's sleigh will first make a stop at The Palace Grill, 1408 W. Madison St, for breakfast. Catch him in action at the diner from 8 a.m.-noon.

After a hearty breakfast, Old St. Nick will make an appearance at Jinglefest in the Chicago French Market, 131 N. Clinton St. in the West Loop. At the holiday fest, children can line up to have their photos taken with Santa and decorate Christmas cookies from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Cookie decorating is sponsored by Vanille Patisserie and the event is free.

The French Market's Marche de Noel also continues, bringing the spirit of a traditional French Christmas Market to the neighborhood. The holiday market brings together rotating visiting artisans selling unique holiday gifts. Items include jewelry, wall decor, photographs, toys and more.

The Marche de Noel market continues through Dec. 23 and is open 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. daily.

After a busy day Saturday, Kris Kringle will be ready to spread holiday cheer once again, appearing at Carnivale's Brunch With Santa on Sunday. Santa will be joined by Mrs. Claus from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the restaurant, 702 W. Fulton St.

Reservations for the Carnivale brunch are required. Reservations can be made online or by calling the restaurant at 312-850-5005.
