NORWOOD PARK — The Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce will string together a myriad of ways to eat and drink the arctic cold away during its annual Winterfest Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors can pick up beer and spiced wine inside tents near the Norwood Park Metra station, 6088 N. Northwest Highway, where space heaters will be running both days.

At least six independent shops will be selling goods, including Kisbi Coffee, Eight Hands Handmade Soaps and Sugar Mammas Cupcakes.

Ada's Market & Deli, MiMi's and Al Patron will also serve up hot food from trucks along the street.

Kids can take pictures with a Santa Claus for $10 inside the train's waiting room, and a bus or trolley will run continuous loops through the neighborhood to check out Christmas lights.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the neighborhood will light up its Christmas tree. From 5:45-7 p.m., the Taft High School choir will be on hand to sing carols.

Winterfest will run from 2-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
