DOWNTOWN — Chicago's getting hit with an Arctic cold front that'll make it feel like it's in the single digits outside.

Wednesday might be the only somewhat warm day we see for a while: It'll hit the upper 30s, but it'll be cloudy with a "brisk wind," said AccuWeather meteorologist Calr Erickson. That's about average for this time of year — but it's also the last day before a cold spell hits, bringing in cold weather for seven to 10 days.

An Arctic cold front will sweep in Thursday, bringing temperatures to the mid-20s, Erickson said. It could feel even chillier thanks to winds that hit 15-25 mph, with some gusts reaching 35 mph, and there might be more snow flurries.

"Gusty winds will probably make it feel like it's more in the single digits to teens at times," Erickson said.

Friday will be similar: Temperatures will hit the low 20s but feel more like they're in the single digits, and there will be plenty of wind, Erickson said.

Saturday will also see chilly temperatures in the mid-20s, but it shouldn't be as windy, Erickson said. Sunday will also be cold, and there might be some snow.

"Once we get past [Wednesday] I don't really see any nice warmups anytime soon," Erickson said.
