CHICAGO — A man was shot and wounded in the Near West Side on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 12:36 p.m., the man was the passenger in a car driving in the 600 block of South Ashland Avenue when someone in another car fired shots, police said. The shooting was near Rush University Medical Center.

The man's forehead was grazed by a bullet and he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No further information was immediately available.
