CHICAGO — Gregory Thomas-Bell, 56, was shot dead in Woodlawn on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
At 3:38 p.m., witnesses saw the man get into a fight with another man in the 6600 block of South Kenwood Avenue and heard a gunshot, police said.
The man was shot in his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Thomas-Bell, of the 4300 block of Greenwood, was pronounced dead at 3:47 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
