WEST LOOP — A West Loop group will unveil the results of a study on land use and parking in the neighborhood at a meeting next week.

The West Central Association and Metropolitan Planning Council will present the study's findings at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at BuiltWorlds, 1260 W. Madison St. The meeting is open to the public and neighbors can RSVP for the event online.

The Metropolitan Planning Council study will serve as a guide to vet future developments in the evolving neighborhood, said Armando Chacon, West Central Association president. Based on the study's findings, the West Central Association will also announce their plan for the West Loop at the meeting.

"This will serve as a guide for how we evaluate future growth in our neighborhood," Chacon said. "[The plan] should give our community some insight into what we're going to be promoting."

Eleanor Gorski, deputy commissioner of the Planning, Design and Historic Preservation Division of the city's Department of Planning and Development, is also expected to speak at the meeting. Ald. Walter Burnett Jr. (27th), Ald. Danny Solis (25th) and Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) have also been invited to attend.

The West Central Association commissioned the Metropolitan Planning Council to complete the study earlier this year. As part of their research, the agency's staff met with West Loop aldermen, officials from the Department of Planning and Design and West Loop and University Village community organizations, Chacon said.
