CHICAGO — A shooting in Little Village killed one man and wounded another Tuesday, police said.

At 2:14 p.m., the two men, 18, were walking in the 2300 block of South Whipple Street when they heard gunshots and realized they'd been hit, police said.

One of the men was hit in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He has been identified as Aaron Perez, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which did not release Perez's home address as of Thursday afternoon.

The other man was hit in his rough shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The men were documented gang members, police said.

No one was in custody.
